2010 GRANT COUNTY FAIR RULES

This fair is planned and conducted according to the rules and regulations of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, for the use of state funds. Every possible protection and cour- tesy will be extended to exhibitors at the Grant County Fair, but the Board shall not be re- sponsible for any loss of exhibits, animals or equipment in case of fire, theft, or loss from any other cause. The Grant County Fair Board, its agents, servants, and employees, shall not be held liable in case of injury to exhibitors, concessionaires, or the public on the grounds or in the buildings from any cause whatsoever while on the grounds of the Grant County Fair. No soliciting or advertising on Fairgrounds is permitted without the prior written consent of the Grant County Fair Board. No pets allowed on fair grounds. Abso- lutely no refunds on gate admission.

RULES OF EXHIBITION

1. Entries made in 4-H and FFA classes must have been produced in conjunction with an approved project.

2. Open classes are open to all exhibitors unless otherwise specified.

3. Items entered for exhibition will not be released until the last Saturday of the fair between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon. Please keep your exhibit tags that are issued when en- tering exhibits. These will be used to claim exhibits. Exhibits must be picked up at this time as there will not be staff at the Fairgrounds to release exhibits after this time. If you are unable to pick up your exhibits, make arrangements for someone else to pick them up for you. Fruits and vegetables not picked up will be discarded.

4. Premiums not immediately issued after individual shows will be available to be picked up at the Fair Office on the last Saturday of the fair between 9:00 am and 12:00 noon. Any discrepancy in premiums should be directed to the Fair Office. Any premium check not cashed within 60 days will be forfeited to the Grant Count Fair.

5. Exhibitors may enter one entry per class. In the event of false entry, the exhibit will be disqualified.

6. The Fair reserves the right to alter the order of showing a class and to cancel in the case of bad weather.

7. Decisions of the judges are final. 8. Exhibits will not be open to the public until entries have been judged. No one is permitted in the exhibition building during judging.

LIVESTOCK HEALTH REQUIREMENTS All livestock / animals offered for sale or exhibition at Kentucky County Fairs shall meet the following regulations according to KRS Chapter 257:

a. 302 KAR 20:040 (Entry into Kentucky) b. 302 KAR 20:065 (Sale and Exhibition of Kentucky Origin Livestock)

GRANT COUNTY FAIR TRUCK AND TRACTOR PULL RULES

 

  1. No driver under sixteen (16) years of age without consent of a parent.
  2. Only conventional two-wheel drive factory farm tractors with standard block engine are eligible in factory farm classes.
  3. Rubber tires only, no duals or chains. Tire size for 8000 not to exceed 18.4 and 14000 not to exceed 20.8 (Does not apply to any other classes).
  4. Conventional weights and equipment only. Weights on front not to exceed 24 inches from grill.
  5. Drawbar must be stationary, not to exceed 20 inches on tractors, 26 inches on 4x4 trucks and 30 inches on 2 wheel drives.
  6. 13500 and 4x4 tractors must use factory draw bar with clevis.
  7. 14000 and farm stock tractors must have cast iron or OEM wheels.
  8. All weights must be safely secured. Any weights lost during forward motion will dis- qualify the pull.
  9. First tractor or truck to pull has the option to take or come back third in the class.
  10. No alterations, fuel or weight can be added after weigh-in.
  11. Only two drivers per tractor or truck allowed per class. Three entries required qualifying for a class.
  12. Only two persons allowed in the pull alley during the pull.
  13. Each entry permitted two attempts. Shifting will be permitted as long as sled continuesto move. Passing 60 foot marker qualifies as a pull.
  14. Each driver must be ready when called and driver must remain in seat during the pull at all times.
  15. Weight will be verified for winners in all classes. Anyone refusing will be disqualified.  Tractors and trucks will be weighed with driver.
  16. Only one premium paid per tractor and truck in each class.
  17. In event momentum of sled pushes drag past the 60-foot marker, then this is considered a pull, unless judges feel the driver has made every effort to stop.
  18. Absolutely no drinking or boisterous behavior on the tractor pull track. This will result in disqualification.
  19. Grant County Fair Board is not responsible for any theft or accidents that may occur in the contest and each contestant entering the contest does so at his/her own risk.
  20. Tractors and trucks will be displayed in an area adjacent to the tractor pull track.
  21. All above rules apply to all farm classes.
  22. Trucks will be per National Truck Pullers Rules.
  23. The Grant County Fair board reserves the rights to cancel, postpone, disqualify, or call the pull off at any time.
  24. Decisions of the judges are final.
  25. Pit Passes are required to enter pit area.
